Founder and Director | Chartered Surveyor
Mathew founded Huxley Surveyors in 2020 and has over 24 years’ experience in the property and construction industry. He has been a Chartered Surveyor since 2013.
His professional background began in quantity surveying and commercial management before progressing into project management, property development and subsequently building surveying. He has held senior project, development management and consultancy roles and has worked across residential, commercial and retail property in the UK and internationally.
His development experience extends across the full development lifecycle, from feasibility, acquisition and funding through planning, design and procurement to construction and completion. Combined with his experience specifying, procuring and administering building works, this gives Mathew a practical understanding of both how buildings are constructed and how defects and other building-related issues should be investigated and addressed.
Mathew also holds an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and has specialist expertise in property and construction disputes. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a CEDR Accredited Mediator and a CMC Associate Mediator. Mathew is also Chair of the Independent Surveyors and Valuers Association (ISVA).

The team
An independent, owner-led practice with a team of five surveyors and two administrators. Clients benefit from a personal service and direct access to the surveyor responsible for their instruction.
